NoMi Women’s Magazine: “Women to Watch” Issue

Being apart of the Northern Michigan (NoMi) community is something I am proud of and is a huge part of my lifestyle! To be featured in NoMi Women’s Magazine: Women to Watch spring issue has been an exciting opportunity in my career to highlight the services Inspire Therapy can offer others in the area.

Please read my interview questions below to learn more about why I chose to become a therapist and about my passion and purpose of working with clients!

Why did you choose this career field?

I decided to pursue a career as a therapist, because I’ve always felt a strong desire to support and guide others through difficult times. Over the years, I’ve witnessed the power of emotional and mental health support in helping individuals heal, grow, and thrive. Personal experiences and observing others has shown me how vital it is to have someone who listens without judgment, offers guidance, and empowers people to take control of their well-being.

What is your passion, purpose, and/or mission?

Being a therapist helps me to channel my empathy and compassion into a tangible action. My mission through Inspire Therapy, is to create a therapeutic space designed to support growth, connection, validation and inspiration.

Describe the turning point in your journey when you knew this was the right career path.

I’m a rarity in the sense that at a young age, I always wanted to be a therapist. I never wavered in that path and that solidified it was the right career venture for me.

What was the biggest challenge along the way, and how did you overcome it?

The biggest challenge in being a therapist was taking the leap to pursue a solo private practice. I don’t have a background in business, but I do have ambition and I’m constantly striving to better understand the different roles as an owner and a therapist appropriately. Knowing that I will continue to learn and grow too.

Why did you choose Northern Michigan?

I received my training in Chicago from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in efforts to diversify my personal, academic, and professional training. However, I chose Northern Michigan because this is my home. I grew up in Manistee and there’s beauty in being able to offer my services and knowledge to the community I grew up in.
